Buckwheat Pasta “Pizzoccheri” is made from Durum Semolina wheat and Buckwheat flour (25%). The buckwheat pasta has the typical colour and taste of buckwheat and highter content of fiber therefore the same quantity of pasta gives an inferior caloric contents. The buckwheat Pasta can be consumed in the same way (recipe) as the semolina Pasta but with some added values that come from particular propreties of buckwheat. Buckwheat contains a lot of essential nutrients that are required for the normal functioning and health of our body. Buckwheat is an excellent plant source for easily digestable protein and contains all eight essential amino acids. Buckwheat's beneficial effects are due in part to its rich supply of flavonoids. Flavonoids are phytonutrients that protect against disease. Buckwheat flour contains antioxidants, that helps in protect the body from the damage of free radicals, and minerals.
